They are kind of a cross between a ground and bark mantis. They walk funny due to their short legs. Tend to try to climb under obstacles rather than over them. Adults of both sexes are a little over 3". They prefer flies to any other feeder. They are very colorful with red running down their forarms. They are fun to watch. They are a hungry bunch and eat very well. The male is about the same size as the female and mate easily. This species is kept as a pet only and can not be released in the U. S. A good container for them is the Medium Hex, medium round.
