Turkish glider fruit flies

The flightless Drosophila glider fruit fly is much larger than the Melanogaster fruit fly & has wings.  It does not fly but does glide which is great for the pet that needs flying feeders instead of walking. It is the perfect size feeder for the nymph that is beyond smaller fruit flies, but isn’t ready for houseflies. The rate of reproduction is very quick just as the melanogaster fly, and you get  thousands of flies like the Melanogaster.  When you receive maggots are already laid in the cultures. Give them time to develop, most times a small separate cup of extra flies are shipped with the culture to be added back to the culture as many get smashed in shipping and these replace those that died in shipping. Please note, maggots are hard to kill, don't throw cultures away without giving them the chance to develop, in most cases within a week you will see them develop into pupae.  Give it a try and see how your bug eaters like it. They are cultured just like the black so nothing new is required to raise them. Don't forget that small fish, frogs, toads and other herps like them too!
